Most people do the safari portion first as it’s nice to chill and sleep late after being on safari where you need to be up at dawn for the best game viewing. But of course this is up to you. In fact we often find honeymooners prefer to have time out alone (!) and to absorb all the memories of their big day away at the beginning of their trip and then go on safari afterwards. But of course that’s up to you.
Options abound! A popular Africa Beach Holiday Safari Packages combo is a safari to Kenya and/or Tanzania followed by a beach experience on Zanzibar or Diani Beach. The beaches on the islands off the coast of Mozambique and on the shores of Lake Malawi combine well with a safari in the Kruger or Botswana. And then in South Africa, the KwaZulu Natal and Garden Rout have lots of pretty beaches.

Kenya Beach Resorts
The Indian Ocean Coastline of Kenya has some beautiful beaches and some good quality hotels. We Safaris can arrange stays at a number of selected hotels at one of Kenya’s Beach Resorts in conjunction with an African safari holiday:
Mombasa South
Just south of Mombasa is the famous Diani beach, one of the most renowned on the East African Coast, with its long, soft, white sand making it a tropical paradise. There is also an offshore reef which is ideal for snorkelling and as this also keeps the waves low it is an ideal beach for paddling and swimming. There are many exclusive hotels situated on the beach: Afrochic, a boutique hotel, Asha Cottages a seafront property with 5 exclusive guest rooms, Msambweni Beach House a family owned beach property, Leopard Beach and Sands at Nomad both with spas, Alfajiri Villas and Southern Palms situated on the beach and Tijara Beach which has its own private beach. The more remote and quieter Galu Beach is a few miles south of Diani and Pinewood Village provides excellent accommodation and activities. On Funzi Island, an unspoilt island off the coast is Funzi Keys and on Chale Island is Sands at Chale.
Holidays in the Seychelles
The Seychelles promise adventure and breathtaking natural beauty in pristine surrounds still virtually untouched by man. The Seychelles consists of 115 islands that lie just South of the Equator and East of Kenya and they stretch like an array of jewels in the Indian Ocean. These beautiful islands are one of the World’s most romantic destinations. They cast a siren-like spell over everyone who experiences its crystalline turquoise sea washing the pristine coral reefs and the powdery beaches that encircle the vast granite pinnacles which emerge from the verdant green rain forest.
The Seychelles boast two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Aldabra, the world’s largest raised coral atoll and home to 150,000 giant tortoises and a plethora of distinct flora and fauna; and, Vallée-de-Mai on Praslin Island, the only place on earth to find the fabled Coco-de-Mer (world’s heaviest seed), and the rare Black Parrot.
Some of the activities available on the islands include: bird watching, snorkeling, scuba diving (especially on the reefs around North Island and Silhouette Island), nature walks, mountain biking, windsurfing, sea kayaking, fly-fishing, sailing and more. Whether you are looking for a choice of activities or simply wish to relax at a Seychelles beach resort, this is the ideal year-round destination. For the perfect holiday in paradise we offer a lovely selection of high-quality hotels across the Seychelles Islands including the Banyan Tree and AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa on Mahe Island, The Coco De Mer on Praslin and the idyllic private island resort of Denis.
Mauritius Beach Holiday Packages
Mauritius is a beautiful island in the center of the Indian Ocean perfect for a beach holiday and a renowned honeymoon destination. Volcanic peaks, cliffs, gorges and waterfalls, as well as fields of sugar cane and pineapples are found in the lush green interior, with swaying palms and white sandy beaches on the surrounding coast. Home to many rare and exotic plants and birds, with colorful underwater marine life on the coral reefs, this island has really been blessed by nature.
The island is 720 square miles in size and is a unique blend of cultures as its people are a mix of Africans, Indians, Chinese and Europeans which is reflected in the language, religion and especially the cuisine. Mauritius is noted for its 5 star luxury hotels and resorts, most of which offer a full range of water sports such as water-skiing, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and jet skiing and even parasailing. It is an excellent choice for a honeymoon and weddings can also be arranged for those who wish to tie the knot on a tropical beach beside clear turquoise waters. With no pollution, no high rise hotels and a warm welcome from the friendly, easy-going people, Mauritius keeps visitors returning year after year.
Zanzibar Holidays
Zanzibar is a small archipelago off the coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean and consists of two main islands, Unguja (Zanzibar Island), Pemba and Mafia Islands. It is home to a rich and diverse culture influenced over time by its many settlers including the Sumerians, Egyptians, Indians, Chinese, Persians, Portugese, Dutch and British. Known as the ‘Spice Island’, Zanzibar was once the world’s leading clove producer, and still maintains a strong export market in spices.
Today tourism is a growing sector as more people visit the fantastic scenery and fusion of cultures available on these islands. It also offers some of the best diving experiences in East Africa and the historic Stone Town old city which has remained virtually untouched for the last 200 years. There is something on offer to suit every visitor, and is the perfect end to your African experience. We Safaris can arrange stays at a number of selected hotels in Zanzibar and the less traveled Mafia Island in conjunction with a Safari.
