Serengeti wildebeest Migration Safari is among the world’s classic wildlife events; no one can compare Tanzania’s great migration. And for nature or wildlife photographers, there is simply nothing like being in the midst of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra as they make their annual migration over the Serengeti plains in pursuit of new grass.

Agile predators steal behind, poised to seize the young and the weak that trail the great herds. To truly capture the wonder of the migration in images, it’s essential to witness it from key vantage points that offer close-up views—and the only way to do that is through exclusive stays in remotely situated camps. Witness and capture the annual phenomenon that is the wildebeest migration across the Serengeti, spend time with the Maasai and document their traditions in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

    5 Days Wildebeest Migration Safari

5 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari is a Tanzania safari tour that takes travelers to experience the world’s most natural spectacle, the great wildebeest migration. The wildebeest migration is an annual phenomenon that has over 1 million wildebeests and other wildlife including zebras and antelopes migrating through the Mara River to Maasai Mara National Reserve of Kenya, with predators pouncing on them during the whole process.

Lions on land and crocodiles in the Mara River feast on lurking, un-swift migrating wildlife, with the majority giving in all they have to make it across the river. The whole spectacle is a true wonder, and a survival for the fittest experience. To watch this spectacle, in the Serengeti National Park, travelers ought to book early enough this 5 Days Wildebeest Migration Safari for travel in the months June to July when they cross to the Masai Mara National Reserve, and in the months of October to November when they do return.

    The greatest show on earth

The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of vast numbers of the Serengeti’s wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle, eland and impala. These move in an annual pattern which is fairly predictable. They migrate throughout the year, constantly seeking fresh grazing and, it’s now thought, better quality water.

The precise timing of the Serengeti wildebeest migration is entirely dependent upon the rainfall patterns each year – here we explain how the broad pattern works. This migration always varies from year to year, in response mainly to variations in the weather, the available grazing and available water. But these are the best general guide that we have to its location.
