8 Days Kenya Disabled Wheelchair Safari Holiday

Located just south of the city, Nairobi National Park is Kenya’s first game reserve and the only protected area in the world that sits so close to a nation’s capital. Visitors to the vast wildlife park are likely to spot black rhinos, lions, giraffe, and zebra, as well as some 400 bird species. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Panafric Hotel.

In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to Mbuzi Lunch – a traditional Kenyan restaurant that serves up delicious local dishes. There, you can enjoy a wide variety of Nairobi specialties, including baked chicken and rice, wraps, meats and salads. Having refueled and recharged, we’ll spend the rest of the afternoon at the Giraffe Center, which cares for endangered species of giraffe. You’ll get up close and personal with these beautiful beasts and even be able to feed them yourself.

After Lunch we will proceed to the Giraffe Sanctuary. Home to a towering crew of endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, Nairobi’s Giraffe Center supports conservation work and educational programs across Kenya. Here, visitors can feed giraffes from a treetop platform, walk a nature trail to the Gogo River, and learn about wildlife conservation at the on-site nature center. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Panafric Hotel.

Depart in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley –to Lake Naivasha making a brief stop at the great rift valley. Arrive at Lake Naivasha Resort lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon, we have a boat ride in the lake.  Boat ride to the Crescent island, part of Lake Naivasha makes it a worthy ride, with all the wildlife on the shores of the lake like the springboks, giraffes, cape buffaloes, colobus monkeys and the many birds. Lake Naivasha is an ideal place for boating, with wide open waters, fantastic surrounding scenery and plenty of channels to explore. This is an excellent way to see plenty of bird life and hippos up close. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Resort.

After breakfast we depart to Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive will take two hours to flamingo lodge. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to Reticulated giraffes, waterbucks, black and white rhinos, buffalo, lions, leopards, and the shores of the lake itself is fringed by thousands of Flamingos s which feed on the Lake Nakuru’s algae. Lunch will be taken at the Lake Nakuru Lodge, Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or similar. Afternoon safari game viewing around Lake Nakuru and the forest nearby. Return to Lake Nakuru Lodge, Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.

This morning we drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino.

Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. In this dream safari landscape of undulating plains scattered with acacias, we look out for the diverse and abundant wildlife of Mara. We may come across herds of wildebeest, elephants, zebras and antelopes, along with prides of lions, coalitions of cheetahs, a crash of rhinos and lone leopards. Look forward to a full day of wildlife viewing in world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. We embark on three game drives in one day – early morning, mid-morning and afternoon 4×4 adventures in this Big Five Mecca. During our stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals.

Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve borders Tanzania’s Serengeti and is home to the full complement of safari animals. With luck, you’ll see all of the Big 5, but probably not all on the same day. I recommend spending 3 nights in the Mara so you’ll be able to discover all of the park’s unique landscapes.

Start our day with an early morning game drive. After breakfast, depart back to Nairobi by road arriving early afternoon.
