Breakfast at your Nairobi Hotel, depart for Aberdare National Park arriving at Outspan hotel for lunch. Afternoon transfer to The Ark Hotel for floodlit game viewing. Dinner and overnight at The Ark.
Depart the ark hotel after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru via the equator line, Thompsons fall, Subukia view point and Nakuru town arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive will be done till sunset then return to Lake Nakuru Woodlands Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Lake Nakuru National Park is spectacular. It has been a blazing sea of deep pink flamingos – millions of them! Their intense fuchsias bursting against Lake Nakuru’s deep blue alkaline waters. Quite simply… it has until some few years ago been the most brilliant show of birdlife on earth.
Due to some progressive natural factors , the flamingo numbers have been reducing but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills and euphorbia trees dot the lake.
The few quantity of flamingos is accompanied by other birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks as well as herons and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy and full of color.
But that’s only the beginning of what this special park has to offer because the wildlife viewing here is easy and accessible. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lake shore.
The park is also sanctuary to one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhino.
Another aspect to the active wildlife viewing here is observing the park’s zebra, hippo, olive baboon, vervet and colobus monkeys, waterbuck and hyena. Other big safari wildlife to be on the lookout for includes lion, cheetah, leopard and buffalo.
Main Destination: Lake Nakuru National Park (Kenya)
After breakfast at the lodge, check out and leave for the morning and final game drive at Lake Nakuru, visit the Rhino Sanctuary and track other great animals that inhabit in this park. Late at around 10.00 am leave Lake Nakuru region for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival check in at your lodge, evening will be spending at leisure either at the lake side or visit the floral farms. Dinner and overnight will be served at Naivasha Kongoni Resort.
Breakfast will be served at the resort then check out and proceed to Hell’s gate national park which is the only park in Kenya where one can walk with animals as there no predators. Choose to cycle the 11 kms down the gorge for a nature walk as you have great and amazing views of the rock layers. Later ascend to the main gate, meet the driver guide then leave Naivasha and proceed to Maasai Mara game reserve. Upon arrival if time permits have an evening game rive alternatively check in at Mara Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

An extensive morning game drive is followed by a lazy restful afternoon by the poolside or another game drive. This part of the northern Serengeti is where the great wildebeest migration is resident and it will be possible to see huge herds of these animals covering much of the reserve. Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, iconic and yes, quirky. The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole. The Ark has four viewing areas for observing the ever-present animal activity.
There is also a ground level bunker – the perfect hideout for the discerning photographer. This is a circular pillbox-like structure, and it is from this vantage point that pictures of animals on the salt lick only yards away may be taken through the view holes in complete safety.
Set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to our resident giraffe, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on our expansive lawns.
The rooms at Naivasha Sopa Resort are spacious, airy and light as, the windows are all glass. They are tastefully furnished with mahogany colored furniture. There are mini bars in all the rooms, TV’s in 48 out of the 84 rooms, telephones and safes.
Sopa Resort Ground floor rooms have 2 queen size beds and a sunken living room at the front which opens out on to the beautifully manicured lawns. They also have sunken bath tubs and bidets.
Top floor rooms have 1 king size bed and in front of it has a beautifully balcony which faces the lawns as well. The bathrooms on this floor have shower cubicles and bidets.
