Lake nakuru Holiday Safari
On the first day of the safari, you will depart Nairobi and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for a pre-lunch game drive. Lake Nakuru in Kenya is just a three-hour drive from Nairobi in the Great Rift Valley. It boasts an abundance of wildlife and spectacular landscapes. Think black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs and hippo occupying euphorbia forests, acacia woodlands, savannah grasslands and rocky escarpments around a shallow, alkaline lake.
Masai Mara National Reserve
One of the world’s premium wildlife destinations, the Masai Mara was named after the Maasai tribe who live within this protected park. The Maasai people, who are nomadic traditional herders, are permitted to graze their cattle in this area of Kenya. This area is home to a great variety of game including lion, leopard, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest (gnu), giraffe, buffalo, jackal, topi, gazelle, impala and elephant. Hippopotamus and crocodile are plentiful in the rivers here, and the bird life is also abundant.
Serengeti National Park
Truly an iconic park, the Serengeti’s abundance of wildlife has numbers estimated at well over 3 million. Spend two days exploring the great plains, home to the largest annual animal migration – every year, over 2 000 000 wildebeest migrate from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya.
Ngorongoro Crater
The entire Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers about 8300 square kilometres and next to the famous Crater is the Olduvai Gorge – an area were many fossils have been unearthed. The Ngorongoro Crater has the perfect mix of safari animals, stunning scenery and fascinating history. Enjoy mesmerising game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater that are included in this safari package.
Lake Manyara National Park
The major landmark of the Lake Manyara National Park is actually the spectacular rift wall, where the plains give way to the cultivated uplands of Mbululand. The Great Rift Valley in East Africa is part of a fault in the earth’s crust. This fault stretches 8,000 km from Turkey to the mouth of the Zambezi River. It is so massive that astronauts can see it clearly from space.
Amboseli National Park
The most attractive aspect of Amboseli is its distinctive terrain. There are dry lake beds amongst oases of swamps and these offer travellers the most amazing contrasts whilst on safari in Kenya. There is a good infrastructure of roads to explore in the 400 square kilometer Amboseli National Park and plenty of game with over 80 mammal species.
Victoria Falls Holiday Safari
Africa’s most impressive waterfall leaves all who gaze upon it in mystified awe, but there’s much more to it than spectacular scenery.
The waterfall – especially when the river’s water levels rise between January and June – is immense and impressive. Still, the Zimbabwean town that shares the falls’ name is a great destination to explore.
With many of its hotels strung out along the Upper Zambezi, a stone’s throw above the Falls, Victoria Falls town has developed close to ‘the smoke that thunders,’ as it’s locally known.
This makes it considerably easier for guests to access the waterfall on the Zimbabwean side than from the Zambian town of Livingstone. Furthermore, with its rainforest trails and numerous viewpoints, the tiny Victoria Falls National Park provides unrivaled opportunities to view the multiple falls that constitute this extraordinary natural spectacle.
Clocking in at twice the height of Niagara Falls, the Victoria Falls is one of Africa’s greatest and most-visited attractions. Traditionally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya or ‘the Smoke that Thunders’, Victoria Falls tours are often included in most Southern Africa safari itineraries. The area is also known as Africa’s Adventure Capital. In addition to guided Victoria Falls tours, you can also see the world’s biggest waterfall from the air on a helicopter or thrilling microlight flight.
